Reader Mail: The “Chez Pansies” Incident
I just received a mysterious and somewhat incomprehensible email from a potential crazy person devoted reader “Amy” describing a recent meal at “Chez Pansies,” along with the above photo of a Chez Panisse worker wielding an “I heart Jenny” sign and two videos vaguely involving me and my intern Jenny.
Dear RB,
While dining at Chez Pansies this afternoon several things occurred which might be of interest to you.
1) a customer who was a former employee admonishing the server “not to drink the kool aid.”
2) another customer asking in a rather loud voice ” Who do I have to fuck to get a fruit tart around here?” whose host informed the server that frangipane was not exactly a nut tart let alone the almond tart Lindsey Shere was famous for. Server who automatically receives a gratuity of 17% looked confused.
3) various signs of your new intern, Jenny’s influence.
Photographic evidence supplied although rose tippling may have rendered the evidence useless.
